The Lacewing necklace was commissioned by international collector Tuan Lee and completed in 2018.  Like other necklaces in the Verto series the flexible rubber core allows it to mould comfortably to any body shape and twist into a variety of silhouettes, depending on the wearer’s mood.  Unlike its aluminium cousins, it has no colour. Instead the emphasis is on the highly polished edges, peppered with diamonds, that contrast with the blackened faces of the silver discs.  The internal, lacy pattern was inspired by the vein structure of an insects wing, hence the name Lacewing, while the silhouette is reminiscent of deep sea jellyfish. In 2019 The Lacewing received The Goldsmiths’ Company Award from The Goldsmiths Craft & Design Council.
